Dr. Asanka Jagadeesh Saparamadu is a Registrar in Emergency Medicine under PGIM - University of Colombo. He works in Colombo South Teaching Hospital and has 10+ years of experience as a Medical officer in Intensive care units. He was a Royal College – Colombo student and graduated MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine – University of Peradeniya. He has obtained an MSc in Medical Toxicology from PGIM - University of Colombo. He won the best oral presentation under the Medical category award at ‘The National Health Research Symposium – 2019’ organised by the Ministry of Health – Sri Lanka. He was selected for and completed the training in ‘Specialist program in Emergency Department Development’ at TTS Hospital – Singapore in 2018. He has completed the Emergency POCUS workshop conducted by SLCEP in 2023. During his stay as a Medical Officer-ICU, he took part in upgrading the ICU of BH Embilipitiya. He played a significant role in establishing a fully equipped ten-bed ICU at BH Homagama. He worked as a leading doctor in the COVID-19 ICU of BH Homagama throughout the COVID-19 epidemic. He was also offered to cover up the Medical superintendent post of BH Homagama for six months. Currently, he is waiting for POCUS Accreditation.
