Dr. Elissa Kennedy-Smith is an Emergency Physician who works at My Emergency Doctor, Sandringham Hospital Emergency Department and The Royal Women’s Hospital in their Early Pregnancy Assessment Service. Elissa has an avid interest in all Emergency applications of Point of Care Ultrasound, completing multiple Certificates in Clinician Performed Ultrasound in 2012, and then going on to attain her Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (Emergency) in 2017. She enjoys teaching all aspects of ED POCUS, is an Honorary Advisor for EMUGs, Clinical Lead for US for Alfred Health, the immediate past Chair of the ED Ultrasound Committee for ACEM and officially an “Ultrasound tragic”. Elissa strongly believes in Focused Ultrasound being an essential part of Emergency Training and her other areas of interest include women’s health (in particular the use of Focussed Ultrasound in the ED in early pregnancy and other gynaecological presentations) and paediatrics.
