Dr. Richard Gordon is a distinguished Emergency Physician with 15 years of experience and subspecialist in clinical ultrasound. Dr. Gordon earned his medical degree from St. George’s University, completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Wayne State University Detroit Receiving Hospital, and completed his clinical ultrasound fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He held academic chair for the Georgia College of Emergency Physicians. He joined the faculty with McGovern Medical School in August 2017 as Director of Emergency Ultrasound Education. Dr. Gordon is an award-winning clinical ultrasound educator. He is a passionate advocate for the use of ultrasound at the patient’s bedside and he is very keen on sharing the already outstanding ultrasound educational experience for students, residents, fellows and faculty. Dr. Gordon has various research interests including point of care ultrasound scan (POCUS USS), critical care and regional anaesthesia and continues to serve on the ACEP research committee.
