Dr. Romulo Babasa III is the Assistant Chair, POCUS Coordinator of the St. Luke’s Medical Centre and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the St. Luke’s Medical Centre College of Medicine-William Quasha Memorial, Philippines. Dr. Babasa received his medical degree from the University of St. Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the St. Luke’s Medical Centre. He participated in the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Emergency Ultrasound Visiting Fellows program for international physicians in 2013 and since then, he has focused his efforts on mentoring emergency healthcare practitioners on utilizing ultrasound at the patient’s bedside. He has special interests on critical care sonography. He is an International Member of American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), American College of Emergency Physicians Emergency Ultrasound Section (ACEP-EUS), Philippines Society of Ultrasound in Clinical Medicine (PSUCM).
